New York Fashion Week, the Spring/Summer 2015 Ready to Wear edition, is over, and the Fashion Week baton has been passed to London. Time for us to present you with you a little (edited) round-up of Selima Optique appearances on the SS15 Runway. Three labels/designers we love madly had their stylists pull from our current and past styles - and we love what they did!
First up: WHIT
Whitney Pozgay founded WHIT in 2014, with her husband and partner Parker Argote. They were selected to participate in the CFDA’s Fashion Incubator program, which they recently completed.
For WHIT’s SS15 collection, a variety of Selima Optique frames were used, and several of them are vintage Selima (1990′s - we’re getting old!). Our Jacqueline, however, is in the current collection.
Next up: Orley
Brothers Matthew and Alex Orley, and Matthew’s wife Samantha launched this luxury menswear brand in 2012. This was the second time we worked with Orley on their presentation, and for this season we customized our Nicolas with gold mirror lenses. Such a great effect, on both the Sky Blue and the Beige Peppermint Nicolas.
Last, but not Least: Erin Fetherston
Erin is another Selima Optique friend, with whom we’ve worked on presentations before, most recently on FW14. Erin first showed in 2005, during the Paris Haute Couture Shows, no less. Her choice for this particlar show was our Anouk in White, with black lenses.

A series of portraits by photographer Elsbeth Struijk van Bergen, created at the occasion of the launch of Selima Optique x Colette, now bundled and uploaded to our >issuu< page (click to go there).
This exclusive collection of Selima Optique’s classic optical Andy frame consists of seven colors, inspired by the sights and sounds of New York City in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s -think “when Disco met New Wave”, but translated into eyewear!
The design of the frame itself, a mainstay and bestseller in the Selima Optique collection, was inspired by the King of Pop Art himself; Warhol.
Selima Optique x Colette is hand made in France of high quality crystal acetate. The UV400 lenses were custom tinted to match the frames, and are meant for indoor/outdoor, daytime/nighttime use.
A ‘Thank You’ to the models: Dinu, Jeroen, Shanti, and Sophie.
When Selima Optique Founder and Creative Director, Selima Salaun, recently traveled to Tokyo to host a trunk show, ELLE Japan took notice. Selima was interviewed about the design process and about the collection of sunglasses and optical frames she was presenting. Right after the interview ran on ELLE.co.jp, the September 2014 issue came out. Our Maya frame got a full page, as worn by Elite Model Look Hungary winner Alma Baczay. The photographer is Yasutomo Ebisu.
