S pring in Paris: The new Selima Optique Location at Le Bon Marché

Just in time for Spring, we moved to a new location at the Bon Marché. We are now between Prada and Dior Homme on the ground floor near the entrance at the corner of rue Velpeau and rue Babylone.

Three years have already passed since we first opened at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche and we’re still dizzy with the energy! This is like no other department stores. Every day is an event and everything is constantly changing.
By the way, besides the location indicated above we also have a small sunglasses counter by the Rue de Sèvres entrance. Yes.. Be ready for the SUN!!

R ihanna wears the Alien

In preparation for the Anti world tour, Rihanna’s stylist Mel Ottenberg came to Selima Optique for sunglasses. Besides lending vintage pieces, Selima designed three custom styles for Rihanna. In Tampa, Rihanna wears the “Alien” frames.

“We were going for a retro futuristic take on cat-eyes” says Selima Salaun.

These unique frames convey a sense of ‘90’s toughness’ through the cat-eye shaped flash mirror lenses mounted in a bold acetate frame. If anyone can pull of this fierce look, it’s Bad Gal - especially when accompanied by an over-sized brown suit from Y/project.

I ris Apfel, the irreplaceable fashion muse takes Paris.

Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, the high-end Parisian department store, has invited Iris Apfel to create a collection of her favorite fashion accessories. From a furry red handbag to a colorful scarf, from a bold necklace to a pair of oversized sunglasses. For the later, Le Bon Marché asked Selima Optique to design the perfect Iris Apfel  eyeglasses  for the occasion.

Selima kept the large round shape, beloved by Iris, but added an octagonal outside contour to surprise her fans. The launch event was a big success during the Paris fashion week, and we caught our two ladies deep in conversation!  Read all about it in Vogue, WWD, Grazia ..

In NUVO , when asked “Any pieces in the collection you’re particularly fond of?”, Iris answers “The Selima [Optique] glasses..they’re my favourite!”..  Yes!!

The Selima Optique x Iris Apfel x Le Bon marché sunglasses are coming in black or red acetate and exclusively sold at Le Bon Marché in Paris until mid April.

Selima Optique which has a store within Le Bon Marché since June 2013. Selima Optique also lent vintage and other pieces to the exhibition (including the massive Daphne sunglasses from our June Ambrose collaboration). The project, started in  fall 2015, was a non stop chassé–croisés between Paris, New York, Palm Beach, Miami and wherever Ms. Apfel would take us!

R eal Love!

Love is in the air - For Valentine’s Day (and any day, for that matter) choose to be sweet and sassy with the “Love” frame adorning your eyes!

The “Love” features a sultry cat-eyed silhouette, complemented by the most darling pops of color at the outer edges to intensify your feline allure. Go ultra feminine with the red or the pink color accents (the perfect addition to your Valentine’s Day outfit) or be mysteriously seductive with the dark turquoise tips. Channel your inner playfulness like Anya Ziourova for Vogue Paris, who looked simply enchanting in a pair of black and white “Love” shades and sprightly Chanel jacket. Of course, “Love” (the frame and the emotion) is never one note. With a simple outfit change, girlish whimsy can transform into Ladylike Charm, as illustrated in this issue of Self . Captivate your sweetheart or break some hearts. There’s never a wrong time to amp up your inner coquette and fall in love with the “Love!”
