R eal Love!

Love is in the air - For Valentine’s Day (and any day, for that matter) choose to be sweet and sassy with the “Love” frame adorning your eyes!

The “Love” features a sultry cat-eyed silhouette, complemented by the most darling pops of color at the outer edges to intensify your feline allure. Go ultra feminine with the red or the pink color accents (the perfect addition to your Valentine’s Day outfit) or be mysteriously seductive with the dark turquoise tips. Channel your inner playfulness like Anya Ziourova for Vogue Paris, who looked simply enchanting in a pair of black and white “Love” shades and sprightly Chanel jacket. Of course, “Love” (the frame and the emotion) is never one note. With a simple outfit change, girlish whimsy can transform into Ladylike Charm, as illustrated in this issue of Self . Captivate your sweetheart or break some hearts. There’s never a wrong time to amp up your inner coquette and fall in love with the “Love!”

S elima Optique at the CFDA Eyewear Showcase

Selima Optique is proud to have been featured in the inaugural Eyewear Showcase event hosted by The Council of Fashion Designers in America! As an innovator in the field of fashion eyewear, we were ecstatic to participate in this milestone moment in the union of the eyewear industry and the fashion world. This CFDA showcase truly solidifies eyewear’s role as an important fashion accessory, and Selima Optique is thrilled to be part of the celebration with our fellow eyewear peers at Barton Perreira, Blake Kuwahara, Christian Roth, l.a.Eyeworks, Leisure Society, Morgenthal Federics, Oliver Peoples, and Robert Marc.

P aris Paris!

Selima Optique is showing at the Carrousel du Louvre, Friday October 2 until Monday October 5th 2015

No we’re not showing in a museum (not yet!). Tranoï – which literally means “between us” – is an artistic platform with a stern selection of more than 1000 premium designers from all over the world and we’re happy to take part.
... Nevertheless.. since we’re at Le Louvre, we may as well share some of our favorite museum pieces..

S elima Salaun, Vik Muniz and Liz Swig, and their friends celebrate the launch of Happy View by Vik Muniz

Lizworks commissioned Vik Muniz and Selima Optique to create a limited edition eyewear design titled “HAPPY VIEW.” The design is a lenticular photograph in a lucite medicine cabinet-like box, consisting of nine colored sunglasses. One can now genuinely see the world through the artist’s eyes. Vik Muniz is a Brazilian artist and photographer. Muniz combines everyday objects such as diamonds, sugar, chocolate syrup and

garbage to create bold, ironic, and often deceiving imagery drawn

from pop culture and art history. His work is exhibited worldwide.

P anel discussion of the Eyewear Designers of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (edCFDA)

Leaving New York Fashion Week behind, Selima was in Las Vegas yesterday to participate in the high-end designer panel discussion of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (edCFDA) at Vision Expo West and we're sharing here some snaps from tweeter and instagram. Also Selima introduced Coco & Breezy (by the way, still have a few of the  unique collaboration pieces left!!

Moderated by James Spina of 20/20, the panel included Blake Kuwahara of Blake Kuwahara Eyewear; Christian Roth of Christian Roth Eyewear; Gai Gherardi of l.a. Eyeworks; Robert Marc of Robert Marc Eyewear; Selima Salaun of Selima Optique and Shane Baum of Leisure Society. Our favorite Selima quote: ”My design process starts when I meet someone who tells me ‘Oh my god. I need new glasses!’.”
