It almost turns you into a therapist in some ways, as you grow closer with them and they start to feel more comfortable sharing their thoughts. This is a very important and valuable characteristic of developing strong relationships that last beyond the store itself.”

In an effort to rev up our hearts for Valentine’s Day we welcomed our fellow animal-loving friends from  Tamerlaine  Farm for a night of vegan treats, by Aviva Wolf , and bubbles, by Bellissima , in the name of advocating for these amazing creatures. While unfortunately, our animal friends were not able to join us for the party they were definitely there in spirit and in pictures displayed on the walls of our Bond 07 boutique. Guests had the opportunity to “meet” some of the animals from the farm, read their story and offered the opportunity to sponsor the animal (or animals) of their choice. The night commenced with speeches and toasts by Tamerlaine Farm Co-Founder Gabrielle Stubbier , Development Director Tracey Katof, Selima Salaun and special guest Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams .

A cute little friendship story we would like to share with you:

Once upon a time, Andrew Leary, the founder of  LOOK Optic , who was then based in Los Angeles, bought a few pairs of  Selima Optique  frames. His favorite pair was the  Money !

A few years later, Andrew started a company focused on fashionable readers at great prices. He then asked Selima, over a few drinks, if he could create a frame inspired by his original Money and she said yes!

         Last year we hosted a Pop Up with EriN Design at our Soho Store . It was such a hit that we decided to do a month long pop up, with Eriko making weekend appearances with her unique, enchanting floral designs at each of our NYC Selima Optique boutiques. 

This year Eriko kicked off her holiday residency at our new Gramercy boutique, Selima Optique Reading Room, then on to Madison avenue, Soho, West Village and finally Bon 07.  Her deep love of nature and fashion inspire her one of a kind floral structures giving her handmade wreaths, garlands, ornaments, and floral frames a modern artistic elegance which was just perfect for the season.

             After knowing each other for years we finally decided to join forces with our clever, funny, friend, not to mention super talented artist, Ferdinand Van Alphen of  Ferdinand.Ink . Ferdinand’s work will be on display at our Bond 07 Boutique now through January 2019. 

            Not only will we be featuring original works of art, prints, dish towels and dishes by Ferdinand but notebooks featuring his original artwork as well as a limited number of hand-painted Selima Optique canvas totes at our select NYC stores. So come by 7 Bond st . (between Broadway and Lafayette) and find yourself an original piece that tickles your fancy for yourself or a loved one because we could all use a little more laughter in our lives these days!
